TAUPE

When I think of Taupe, I immediately think one of my favorite paintings 'Raboteurs de Parquet' by Gustave Caillebotte. In 1875, paintings of scenes depicting the reality of physical labor and of daily work life was completely new and shocked the art world.

Rejected by the 'salon' (sort of exhibition organized by patrons of arts at that time, it's what made Caillebotte separate and create his own Salon. For me, Taupe is for the independant mind, not afraid to walk his or her own new path. I imagine someone sharing his or her own world, as it is without filter, someone naturally chic.
