LIGHT PINK

Light pink first brings to mind the beauty of cherry blossom viewing.

Then rosé wine. I'm partial to Minuty, and rosé means the South of France. And the South of France means Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, the peninsula next to Nice, where the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, left behind by the Rothschild family, stands. The soft pink of its walls comes to mind as well.

And when it comes to pink, there is Édith Piaf's chanson "La Vie en Rose," which translates literally as "life in pink."

In my mind, images of both France and Japan live side by side, as if competing for space in my head. Pink is not simply "cute." It is a color open to many interpretations, with a certain mystery to it, and that is exactly why I love it.
